What is SEO in digital marketing?

 


The term SEO in digital marketing refers to Search Engine Optimization, the process of improving how a website performs in the search engine's algorithms. The intention behind this practice is to increase a site's number of visitors and make it more likely for those visitors to purchase from the business online when they return back.


The full form of SEO can be broken down into two types:

1. white hat

2. black hat

White hat = White hat practices are ethical and good for your ranking on search engines such as Google or Bing. White hat SEO is important to rank your website on the search engine pages

Black hat = The term Black Hat SEO is used to refer to websites that are trying to rank on search engines through in ethical and black hat means. The choice of the term "black hat" by marketers came from a hat that was often worn by 19th-century Western outlaws to provide them with anonymity. Black hat SEO has been a subject of much debate as well as controversies in the SEO community, such as the Google Panda and Penguin updates in late 2011 and early 2012.

White Hat SEO practices fall into two categories:

1. On-page optimization

2. Off-page optimization

On-page optimization = On-page optimization refers to improving the content and structure of your website in order to enhance its search engine ranking. This is done through keyword analysis, well-written content, internal links, and good HTML structure.

Off-page optimization = off page optimization refers to improving the popularity of your website by communicating with others and participating in social media platforms. This includes social sharing, linking with other authority sites, commenting on blogs, and using bookmarking sites to increase SEO. optimization refers to the actions you take on the web page itself. The word optimization means to select, choose, choose the best, or do an activity in order not to have a negative impact on something. In marketing, SEO is broadly defined as the promotion of a product or service by search engine optimization (SEO). When a website has high search engine rankings, people are more likely to find and discover it. Thus, the goal of SEO is to increase the number of visitors to your website and make it popular. This can be done through website promotion by, for example, submitting content for possible inclusion in search engine indexes and on-page optimization.
